Download the signed build for macOS or Windows. No account, no sign-up wall.
Paste an API key for any OpenAI-compatible endpoint and pick the model you want to pay for.
Import an OPML file, add feeds and web sources, drop in PDFs, or capture pages from Chrome.
Choose the sources, set a time, and Tipto writes the brief while the app is open — with a catch-up run when you have been away.
In the app
Summaries are only useful when you can check them. Everything Tipto writes stays attached to the article, page or document it came from.
Articles, saved pages, EPUBs and PDFs open in purpose-built views that remember where you stopped.
Highlight a paragraph in an article, a page of a PDF or a region of an image. Tag them and find them later.
SQLite full-text search across feeds, saved pages, books and extracted document text — instantly, offline.
Chat against your own documents. Answers cite the passages they used, and the citation opens the source at that spot.
Scanned PDFs and captured images get text extraction so figures, dates and captions become searchable and quotable.

Privacy
Tipto runs on your machine and stores your library there. The only thing that leaves is what you ask an AI model to read — and you choose the provider.

Questions
Any provider with an OpenAI-compatible chat completions endpoint. Paste the base URL, the key and the model name — for example an OpenRouter, OpenAI or self-hosted endpoint. You pay your provider directly; Tipto does not resell tokens.
Your library — articles, documents, highlights, notes — is stored in a local database on your machine. Text is sent to your AI provider only when you ask for a summary, a digest or a chat answer, and only the material needed for that request. Diagnostic telemetry is off by default.
macOS 12 or later on Apple Silicon, and 64-bit Windows 10 or later. Linux targets build from the same source but are not validated for release yet. Mobile apps are on the roadmap, not available today.
It pairs with the desktop app and captures the page you are on with one click, so articles behind a reader view, a paywall you already have access to, or a page with no feed still land in your library. Capture is always something you trigger.
Yes. Subscriptions export as OPML, the app has built-in backup and restore, and the library is a single local database file rather than a cloud account.
Tipto is free while it is in early access. You bring your own AI key, so the only running cost is what your model provider charges you. Pricing for the hosted option has not been decided.
